Pressurized gas is what makes dispensing draft beer possible. With this trusty ball lock quick disconnect, you can easily attach the gas line to your Cornelius keg.
When it comes to kegs for homebrewing, the Cornelius (aka Corny) keg is definitely king. To set up your keg for dispensing, you’ll need to know if it uses ball lock or pin lock disconnects. The item you’re looking at uses the ball lock style. Originally, the ball lock was called the Pepsi keg as it was used by the soda company.
This reliable ball lock quick disconnect has a plastic body. It’s colored grey to indicate that its used for gas. Conversely, if you also need a disconnect for your liquid, it will be black.
You’ll find the ball lock design is incredibly easy to use. When you’re ready to install, pull up on the collar, place the disconnect over the gas port of your keg, then release. The internal spring will release and lock the disconnect in place.
This disconnect features an integrated barb outlet that fits 5/16 in. inside diameter draft hose. After sliding the air line over the nipple, tighten the hose using a screw clamp.
